Automatic Door Preventative Maintenance in Myrtle Beach, SC

Keep every entrance safe, quiet, and open.

Two scheduled visits a year from AAADM-certified technicians — so your doors stay on code and off your emergency list.

Why a Maintenance Plan Beats Waiting for a Breakdown

A stuck automatic entrance in July doesn’t wait for a convenient time to fail. Grand Strand humidity swells seals, blowing sand works into tracks and rollers, and the heaviest foot traffic of the year hits right when hotel lobbies, restaurant entrances, and retail storefronts can least afford a dark door. Most service calls Palmetto runs are not surprises to the door itself — a drifting sensor or a worn belt gives warning signs for weeks before it locks a building out of its own front entrance.

The Preventative Maintenance Program puts two visits on the calendar every year, done by AAADM-certified technicians, so those warning signs get caught on a scheduled Tuesday morning instead of during a Saturday check-in rush. It’s priced per door on a fixed annual fee, with volume pricing built in as a property adds openings, so a hotel with six entrances isn’t paying the same per-door rate as a single-door retail shop.

Safer Entrances

Sensors, reversal, breakout, and speeds are tested against ANSI/BHMA A156.10 so guests and staff are protected.

Fewer Surprises

Lubrication, alignment, and adjustments keep operators quiet and reliable through tourist season and storms.

Predictable Cost

A fixed annual fee per door. Volume discounts as you add openings. Optional Full Coverage for wear items.

What We Do on Every Visit

Safety testing

Presence sensors, safety mats, reversal, obstruction detection, and emergency breakout are all tested against ANSI/BHMA A156.10 — the standard that governs how a power-operated pedestrian door is required to behave around people, not just whether it opens and closes.

Mechanical care

Hinges, rollers, tracks, and pivots get lubricated; panels, sweeps, and seals get realigned. This is the part that keeps a door quiet and smooth through tourist season instead of grinding louder by the week.

Electrical and controls

Motor, control board, wiring, motion sensors, push plates, and battery backup are all checked — battery backup matters more here than in most markets, given how often Grand Strand buildings lose grid power during a named storm.

A written report

Every visit ends with signed service notes listing what was found, what was done, and what should be watched or repaired next — not a verbal “looks fine” on the way out the door.

Questions

FAQ

How often does an automatic door actually need to be inspected?

AAADM and ANSI/BHMA A156.10 guidance generally calls for at least an annual inspection, with twice-a-year service recommended for higher-traffic entrances — which is exactly why Palmetto's program is built around two visits, not one, for buildings seeing regular foot traffic.

What happens if a door breaks between our two scheduled visits?

The maintenance program covers the two planned visits; an unscheduled breakdown between them is handled as a separate service call, billed at standard rates unless Full Coverage already includes the failed part. Full Coverage clients get worn parts and repair parts during the term included, plus 50% off major components.

Do you adjust anything before a hurricane or major storm?

Battery backup and control-board condition are part of every scheduled visit specifically because Grand Strand buildings lose grid power during named storms more often than most markets — a door that's already been checked recently holds up better through an outage than one that hasn't been touched in a year.

Can we add more doors to the plan mid-year?

Yes — since pricing is per door and tiers are based on total doors covered, Palmetto can add openings to an existing agreement, and the per-door rate may improve once a property crosses into the Commercial or Enterprise tier.

Does the plan cover glass panel replacement?

No — Full Coverage includes wear items and repair parts plus a discount on major components, but glass panel replacement is billed separately in all cases.
