Automatic Door Technician

As an Automatic Door Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automatic doors in various commercial settings. Your role involves ensuring the efficient operation of automatic door systems to enhance safety, security, and accessibility for customers and employees. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Installation: Install automatic door systems according to manufacturer specifications and engineering drawings. This includes mounting tracks, positioning sensors, connecting wiring, and testing functionality.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on automatic doors to identify and address any issues proactively. Perform tasks such as lubricating moving parts, adjusting sensors, and replacing worn-out components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in automatic door systems, including issues with sensors, motors, control panels, and safety mechanisms. Repair or replace faulty components to restore functionality and safety.
  • Programming: Configure control systems and programming settings for automatic doors, such as adjusting opening and closing speeds, activation methods (e.g., motion sensors, push buttons), and security features.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that automatic doors meet safety standards and regulatory requirements, such as ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines and local building codes. Implement necessary modifications to enhance safety and accessibility.
  • Customer Service: Interact with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical advice, and address any concerns regarding automatic door systems. Maintain a professional demeanor and strive to deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to clients or facility staff on the proper operation and maintenance of automatic door systems. Ensure that users understand safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in the field of automatic doors or related industries (e.g., locksmithing, electrical systems).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, including motors, gears, sensors, and controllers.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in door installation and repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues accurately.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Valid driver's license required for field service technicians.

Certification from industry organizations such as the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) is advantageous and employer will sponsor training & certification.

Glazier

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Glazier to join our team. As a Glazier with us, you will be responsible for installing glass in various residential and commercial settings, with a focus on storefronts, aluminum doors, patio systems, custom shower enclosures, and other structures. Your primary duties will include measuring, cutting, fitting, installing, and repairing glass and mirrors according to specifications. Additionally, working on door hardware, including hinges, panic devices, locks, door closers, etc will be expected. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions and shapes.
  • Install glass windows, doors, storefronts, aluminum doors, patio systems, custom shower enclosures, and other glass structures.
  • Fabricate and install aluminum framing systems for glass panels, including storefronts, doors, and shower enclosures.
  • Repair or replace damaged glass panels and mirrors.
  • Install/Repair Storefront Door Hardware (including hinges, pivots, locking devices, closers)
  • Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Glazier in both residential and commercial settings.
  • Proficiency in cutting, shaping, and installing glass.
  • Knowledge of different types of glass and their applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or training in glass installation or related field.
  • Previous experience working with storefronts, aluminum doors, architectural glass systems, custom shower enclosures, and patio enclosures.
  • Knowledge of Door Hardware
